Aqueous Formaldehyde Solution (Formalin)

Product Description

Formaldehyde is produced as formalin which is a clear and pungent odored solution containing 37% formaldehyde. Formalin can easily polymerize, and can precipitate as solid paraformaldehyde by itself, especially in low temperatures.

Its high order of chemical reactivity and low cost has made this product one of the main raw materials used in the chemical industry.

It is stored in stainless steel and polyester tanks.

Applications

Being a basic structural block, formaldehyde has many applications in the organic chemical industry.

It is primarily used in the production of urea-formaldehyde, phenol formaldehyde and melamine-formaldehyde resins, acetal resins, pentaerythritol and hexamethylenetetramine. It is also widely used as a disinfectant. Other end uses are dyes, tanning agents, stabilizers, dispersants and pharmaceuticals.

Capacity

Annual Formalin (37%) production capacity is 175 000 M/T.
